Six year old takes his first deer
Переглядів 4129 років тому
Our very own bar20arms youngster took his first whitetail deer. We only supervised, while he hunted with perfect results. It was hard to tell who was more excited. He used a custom Mauser chambered in the .243 Winchester. He used a custom handloaded round, loaded by himself with supervision. He made the shot at a little over 80 yards. We are very proud over here at Bar20arms! Thanks for watchin...

SWFA SS 10X42 Scope Part 2 Patterning
Переглядів 7 тис.9 років тому
As promised this is the patterning of the SWFA SS. Now this is a fast and simple version because of the rain. Whenever the weather clears up in the Ozarks we will do a more proper test. But we think this one shows a lot.
SWFA SS 10X42 Scope
Переглядів 13 тис.9 років тому
We just bought this SWFA SS 10X42 Scope after hours of research and deliberation. It is approved by the US Navy and carries a lifetime warranty. So there is not much to risk with this one. You can pick them up at their website for 299, which is a low price for a great quality scope. In the next video we did a quick pattern test just to see how it holds its settings on the knob. Later on when we...
Redfield Battle Zone 3 9X42
Переглядів 23 тис.9 років тому
We bought this scope a while back for mid to long range shooting. We read countless reviews and watched other youtube videos and finally decided to try it for ourselves. This scope offers hash mark .2 MOA lines. It has 40MOA adjustment on the reticle and 70MOA total adjustment on elevation and horizontal knobs. It is an MOA/MOA scope. For 200 dollars we think it is a pretty good buy.

Shooting the Rock River Operator
Переглядів 73010 років тому
In this episode we shoot the Rock River Operator. We were mounting a scope and zeroing it for someone and decided to shoot it on camera to share with our viewers. This is not a test and by no means the best group it is capable of doing. We just shot some cheap rounds we had laying around. They apparently were not the best for this rifle. We are certain that it will perform no better or no worse...

We had the opportunity to get our mitts on this Rock River Operator AR 15. It is a pretty cool AR 15. It is no better than any other in our opinion but it was interesting to play with. It was well fitted and very tight. It is definitely a looker and we are sure it is a shooter. We forgot to mention it has a 1x9 twist Enjoy

In this video we walk you through our hunting grounds. This is only to show you how our hunts happen. We get a lot of grief over our hunting videos. People say we have a deer farm. We laugh and say we WISH we had a deer farm. Anyway we apologize for the sound. It was a windy day which must have cut our voices down a little.

Should start out by saying you need your reloads to simulate M2 Ball ammo. That is what the M1 Garand was designed for. A great article on this is in the March 1986 "American Rifleman" magazine, "Reloading for the M1 Garand.". To function, the M1 needs 6000 +/- 2000 psi port pressure. That means no powder faster than IMR 3031, no powder slower than IMR 4064. IMR 4895 falls right inside those two extremes, so that or a powder similar in burn rate to that (such as Hodgdon H-4895) will work. Bullet weight needs to be 147 gr to 180 gr. To prevent slam-fires, need to select a primer with a harder cup such as the Federal 210M (Gold Medal Match), Federal 210, or the Winchester WLR. These parameters are very exacting. If you bend an operating rod using heavy commercial loads, your accuracy will be nil. M2 Ball ammo has a bullet weight of 147 to 152 gr, loaded with the recommended powders to a muzzle velocity of approx 2740 fps. M72 Match ammo has a bullet weight of 172 to 173 gr, loaded with the recommended powders for a muzzle velocity of approx 2640 fps. The Sierra 168-gr HPBTM (MatchKing) and the Hornady 168-gr HPBTM 168-gr bullet are the "gold standard" for accuracy. Load them with 46.0 to 47.0 gr IMR 4895, using military brass (such as Lake City or Greek HXP) and a WLR primer, to simulate M72 Match. For hunting, I recommend using a 165-gr BTSP bullet with IMR 4895 and WLR primer to simulate the M72 Match load.

Note, the 1973, 10th edition of "Small Arms of the World" removed the powder types from the chart. Got to go with the 1960, 62 or 66 editions (maybe 69).

My Garand puts a nick in the rim of the empty shell as it exits the receiver, it does it to 150 grain store bought hunting ammo and CMP 150 grain ammo, why is this!

A small base, full length resizing die and make sure the press 'cams over', also, get a primer pocket uniformer to square-up and deepen the primer pocket so that the inserted primer sits .006" below flush. I use the uniformer in a small electric screwdriver and use it every time I prep brass, you'd be surprised at how much brass is swaged into the primer pocket with each firing. This is important to minimize and/or eliminate 'slam fires'.

The difference is like between 7.62x54r and 308. 54 is 10% more power and better suited for Commblock rifles and cheaper. 308 has more bullet types and applications, more versatile, but comes at higher price, better suited for ARs. I'm still waiting for AR-54 though 😃

Only posting since I haven't seen it in the comments, but you do not want to shoot even a single load without the bullet pushed all the way down on the powder. An air pocket will cause a dangerous situation.

Thank you for doing this. It is almost impossible to find gel testing on the .38-40 but since it is a ballistic dead ringer for the .40S&W I started looking for videos on that one. Cast performance is the most useful in this case.

Apparently the Swiss 7.5x55 is Equal to the 3006 in case powder capacity. Maby not Factory loads, compared To factory Loads of 3006, but if you reload, you can make it Equal. Pretty Cool, in essence to have a shorter Action 3006 so to speak. Its a Gem of a Caliber.

Hey bar20arms brother, really good test, good guns, good gel, but No.1) Ya got'a tape your gel blocks down and tape'um together, ya got'a have a stable/solid target, a lot of your impact is being absorbed by simply knocking the blocks around. No.2) Ya got''a get your block/targets up level with your gun, otherwise you are shooting down at an angle, instead of plumb, square and level? Amen?

What if she was being held against her will and that was the only way out? Example: guy is aggressive for whatever reason not shown in the video. He brandishes a weapon and then traps her in the parking space. What about that situation? Cuz at that point how would it not be self defense? Tbh I’d probably do the same as her, fearing for my life. It’s better than getting help from Mr Glock and his pals Smith and Wesson .40 hollow points.

Yeah I broke the firing pin block which is the pin you mention on mine the first time I cleaned it and didn't realize it, I carried the gun for about 5 months and didn't know it was inoperable until my dad came over to my house and wanted to try out my 1911 because he was going to be getting one and it wouldn't fire. They wouldn't warranty it because even though I had purchased the firearm 14 months earlier it was manufactured 3 years earlier they said. I had the paperwork and everything to prove when I purchased but I had to pay 200 bucks anyway to get it fixed

If you're going to be that critical, you need to check the brass, and primers then work up loads with different powders and charge weights to see what the barrel likes. That is on the light side not getting into dies, neck sizing, seating, etc.

Another sporterized hack job from the "I know wut I got" generation if you knew what ya'll had you'd know the k31 and lee Enfields were stocked with pressure points like a target rifle that lent to accuracy in barrel harmonics. I don't get it a soldier carried the rifle in the Swiss alps in wartime daily or in the case of an SMLE the trenches and no man's land but guys in the 1970s couldn't carry the rifle in issue condition for a few weeks out of the year to a stationary deerstand I don't want to hear the excuse "it's to cut down on weight" I carry and effectively take deer in the foothills of PA with a long flintlock full kit that rifle you've chopped up was a carbine. My point is if you guys wanted a Remington 700 it was within reach I've seen so many surplus guns ruined returning to auction same guys will try and drive up the value of a butchered piece I've restored several and I will continue to outbid guys like you at auctions for the Untouched ones left. So many disrespected pieces of history and the funniest part is they look goofy as though the person sporterizing then didn't even know how to do it clean or in a classy way that could be walked back amateur hour gunsmiths come up and harass younger enthusiasts when they see them at a range like they know something or bothered to read a book back then before they picked up a hacksaw. So much cheap Tasco glass held on with billet cut weaver sections tapped directly into the receivers every time you come upon them. Couldn't afford a better rifle so they had to destroy something that really wasn't theirs.

You don’t much more Lelia me than N AK if that’s what you want. If you’re an accuracy man at no cost than maybe you go BO. I’ve got both and love both. Lea an towards Bro cuz of patriotism but I’d be fine with either way. If SHTF happened I’d say an AK just from a popularity of them around the world has one I’d go AK. But that’s on availability. I love any of the beefed up AR’s that are out there. Wilson Combat makes one. 6.5 Grendel is one of my fav’s. Just love the fact you can make them as light as you can to travel lol

Shrapnel??? I think the proper term is " frag" or fragments of the bullet; Shrapnel is a term used to describe debris caught in the pressure wave of an explosion or in your case the kinetic energy wave of the bullet when fired from the rifle/ gun. Fragments of the bomb, or bullet in this case, are commonly called " frag".
